A full weekend of Lion's business under the tropical sun
Lion Noelle was fortunate enough to attend the Multi-Districts Convention held recently from the 24th to the 27th of May in Darwin. Under a beautiful sun, Lions from all over Australia met at the Convention Centre, a great venue in the Waterfront precinct. Guest speakers, business sessions, commemorative ceremony, and of course, the finales of the Leos and Youth of the Year competition took place, creating much interest under the guidance of a very entertaining MC, PDG Mick Wainwright.
Attendees to the various workshops taking place across Darwin were transported in great comfort in air-conditioned coaches, and our district V3 social evening took place at the Darwin casino, next door to the very famous Mindil Beach and its extraordinary markets where the farewell reception was held on the Sunday evening. A breathtaking sunset was indeed a fitting tribute to a few days of fellowship, discoveries, and most of all, an acknowledgement of all the work done by Lions across Australia.
Next year, our MD Convention will be held in Traralgon and I can’t wait to rekindle some new friendships with a few Lions I have met in Darwin.
